Prexa Vyas
Senior Admissions Manager, EEC — EU Region & MBBS
Prexa Vyas is a Senior Admissions Manager at EEC, leading the European admissions and MBBS-abroad desk and serving as the canonical visa & study-abroad point-of-contact for the organisation (+91 93759 74748). In her senior-manager capacity she signs off applications across 18 EU destinations — Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Iceland, Greece, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, and Cyprus — plus four MBBS routes (Romania, Germany, Caribbean, Italy). Her workflow covers Schengen D-visa documentation, EU long-term residence-permit transitions, NMC-listed MBBS pre-screening, English-medium-programme shortlisting at TU Delft, KTH, Bocconi, KU Leuven, and University of Helsinki, and Erasmus Mundus scholarship navigation. Prexa partners closely with CA Madhav Gupta on multi-jurisdiction proof-of-funds reviews and with Kedar Bhatt on Germany-MBBS appellate cases.

Belgium hosts three universities in the global top 200 — KU Leuven (top 60), Ghent University (top 130) and UCLouvain(top 200) — with 600+ English-taught master's programmes and moderate tuition (€4,175–€12,000/year). The Schengen Visa D unlocks 27 EU countries, and the 12-month post-study residence permit converts to a skilled-worker permit on a qualifying job offer. Brussels hosts the EU headquarters, NATO and 1,000+ multinational HQs — strongest EU institutional placement of any country.
Why Study in Belgium 2026
Four reasons: three universities in the global top 200 (KU Leuven top 60, Ghent top 130, UCLouvain top 200), 600+ English-taught master's programmes, moderate Western European tuition (€4,175 at KU Leuven), and unmatched EU institutional access via Brussels. The 12-month post-study residence permit is generous, and the Belgian highly-skilled-worker salary thresholds (~€34,500–€43,800/year gross) are achievable for STEM and business graduates.
English Programmes in Belgium
Over 600 Belgian programmes are taught entirely in English, primarily at master's level. Top English-medium destinations: KU Leuven (broad, top 60), Ghent University (engineering, sciences, life sciences, top 130), UCLouvain (Catholic university, social sciences + economics, top 200), Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) (Brussels, political science + IR, top 250), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), University of Antwerp (logistics, applied economics — world-top 200 logistics), Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (business). Studyinflanders.be and studyinbelgium.be list every English-medium programme by university.

Belgium Student Visa D
The Belgium long-stay student visa is the Visa D (Long-stay national visa) for programmes longer than 90 days. Apply through VFS Belgium (Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata) at least 60 days before programme start. Visa fee: €180 (~₹16,500) + VFS service charge ₹2,500. Processing time: 4–8 weeks. After arrival, register with the local commune within 8 days for the residence permit (A-card).
Proof of Funds — €875/Month
Belgium requires non-EU students to show €875/month(≈ €10,500/year per Dofi 2026) for the full programme duration — roughly €10,500 (₹9.5 lakh) for a 1-year master's, €21,000 (₹19 lakh) for a 2-year master's. Acceptable proofs: scholarship letter, bank statements in your or sponsor's name held for 3+ months, fixed deposits, education loan sanction letter from a recognised Indian bank, or sponsor declaration with notarised affidavit. Funds may be in your name OR a sponsor's with a notarised undertaking.
Part-Time Work Rights

Non-EU students with a Belgium student visa can work up to 20 hours/week during the academic year and full-time during holidays — only with a Permis de Travail C work permit (free for international students). At the Belgian collective agreement minimum wage of approximately €11.80/hour for student-level work, realistic monthly earnings are €750–€1,100 (₹68,000–₹99,000). Brussels and Antwerp tech and hospitality sectors are popular student employers.
