To get Permanent Residency (PR), you need 5 years of residence. However, student years count as HALF (50%). Example: A 4-year Bachelor's degree = 2 Years of residence. You need to work for 3 more years to reach the 5-year mark.
No. Dependents on a student visa do NOT have the right to work. They can only work if they find an employer willing to sponsor a separate work permit.
Yes. Almost all universities take a Credibility Interview (online) before admission. Additionally, the Consulate may take a face-to-face interview in English regarding your course and finances.
After graduation, you get a 12-Month Job Search Visa (Autorización de Búsqueda de Empleo). Apply within 60 days before or 90 days after your student card expires. Note: You CANNOT work on this visa; you can only search. Once you find a job (>€1,221/mo — 2025 SMI), you switch to a Work Permit.
