Common questions about Slovenia.

Slovenia has a unique 'Študentsko delo' system. You work via student agencies (e-Študentski Servis). There is no strict 20-hour cap in law, but studies must be priority. Pension (13.95%) is deducted, but no income tax for young students.

Boni is a student meal subsidy system. You get coupons to eat at restaurants for a very low price (approx €3-4 per meal). This significantly reduces your food expenses.

Yes, but at 50%. You need 5 years of residence for PR. A 2-year Master's counts as 1 year towards PR. You need to work for 4 more years (or less if you studied longer) to reach the 5-year total.

Not immediately. You must reside in Slovenia for 1 Year before applying for Family Reunification. EXCEPTION: PhD students and Researchers can bring their spouse immediately.

YES. Once the Family Reunification permit is granted, the spouse has free access to the labor market (no separate work permit needed).

After graduation, you get a 9-month post-study residence permit to find employment or start a business (per the amended Foreigners Act ZTuj-2; gov.si). Once employed, you switch to a Single Permit.
