Part-Time: Up to 16 hrs/week during term (TG-eligible undergrads at the 6 Autonomous Universities: NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SIT, SUSS).
Vacation: Unlimited hours during scheduled vacation.
Post Study: LTVP up to 1 year to find employment.
PR Pathway: Eligible via EP/S-Pass route.

PRIVATE

Private Institutes

Part-Time: NOT ALLOWED. (Deportation risk).
Exception: Only allowed if Internship is compulsory.
Post Study: Short Term Visit Pass (30-90 Days).

PR Pathway (PTS Scheme)

Step 1: Graduate & Get Job (S-Pass ≥ S$3,300/mo or EP ≥ S$5,600/mo + COMPASS).
Step 2: Work for 6 months - 2 years.
Step 3: Apply for PR via ICA (Salary, Age, Qualifications).

Spouse Rules

Student Stage: Generally NO.

FAQs

Common questions about Singapore.

It depends on your university. Public (Autonomous) students can work 16 hours/week. Private Institute students are generally NOT allowed to work part-time. Illegal working can lead to deportation.

If you scored high in English (90%+) in CBSE/ISC 12th, Public Unis may waive IELTS. Private Unis are flexible and often accept an MOI Letter from your school confirming English medium study.

International students in Autonomous Universities can pay subsidized fees (approx 50% less) if they sign a bond to work in a Singapore-registered company for 3 years after graduation.

The 'PTS Scheme' (Professionals/Technical/Skilled) is the main route. Graduate -> Get Job (S-Pass/EP) -> Work for 6mo-2yrs -> Apply for PR. It is a holistic selection process, not points-based.

Generally NO during studies. Only PhD/Research students at Public Unis might get sponsorship. After graduation, you need to earn S$6,000/month on an Employment Pass to sponsor a Dependant's Pass.
