Common questions about Croatia.

After graduation, you can apply for a 1-Year Job Seeker Permit. You must file this request at least 60 days before your student permit expires. Proof of funds (€450-500/mo) required.

Yes, but usually under the 'Later' Rule. The student goes first, gets a residence permit (1 year), then applies for reunification. PhD students may apply simultaneously.

YES. Once the spouse's Family Reunification Residence Permit is granted, they have the full right to work in Croatia without a separate work permit.

For highly qualified workers, the gross annual salary in the employment contract must equal at least 1.5× the average gross annual salary in Croatia (per gov.hr; recalculated yearly by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics — translates to roughly €25,000–€28,000/yr based on 2024–25 averages). EU Blue Card offers a faster path to PR and intra-EU mobility.

For Undergraduate applicants, your high school diploma must be formally recognized by the Agency for Science and Higher Education (AZVO). For Masters, the university usually handles recognition internally.
