Everything you need to know about French A1.
Yes! Our Live Online method is very effective. We use digital tools, audio clips, and live conversation practice.
A1 is the foundation — not the finish line. For Express Entry (CRS bonus), you need ~B2 / NCLC 7. For the new FCIP (Francophone Community Immigration Pilot, launched Jan 2025), you need only NCLC 5 (~B1) in all 4 TEF/TCF Canada skills. Every B1 student first clears A1 at EEC.
FCIP lets 6 designated Canadian Francophone communities (Acadian Peninsula, Greater Sudbury, Timmins, Superior East, St-Pierre-Jolys, Kelowna) recommend you for PR directly — no CRS score, no Express Entry pool. You need NCLC 5 French + a job offer from a designated employer. A1 with EEC is step 1 of that ladder.
Both are accepted by IRCC for FCIP and Express Entry. Results must be less than 2 years old at time of PR application. EEC's curriculum aligns to both formats — your trainer helps you pick based on your strengths.
Yes, you get an EEC Completion Certificate. We also prepare you for the official DELF A1 exam (conducted by Alliance Française).
We provide recordings of live sessions so you can catch up on what you missed.

Live sessions from EEC's French trainers and toppers. Tips, strategies, Q&A — all free.
For Campus France (study in France), A1 is the minimum French level required at the visa interview, even for English-taught programs — it shows good faith integration intent. For French-taught programs in France, you typically need B2 or C1, but A1 is the foundation. For Canadian PR through Express Entry, French A1 (TEF/TCF) gives you 25 to 50 bonus CRS points — often the difference between an invitation and rejection. Quebec immigration heavily favours French speakers.
DELF (Diplôme d Études en Langue Française) is the official French proficiency certification awarded by France Education International on behalf of the French Ministry of Education. DELF A1 corresponds to the CEFR A1 level — basic communication. It is internationally recognised, has no expiry, and is the most credible proof of French proficiency for visa, university, and immigration purposes. EEC trains you to the DELF A1 syllabus specifically.
Most EEC students complete French A1 in 2 to 3 months of focused study (around 60 to 80 contact hours). The CEFR A1 level requires you to handle introductions, daily routines, simple questions, basic written messages, and short conversations on familiar topics. We run daily live classes (weekday evenings and weekends), structured around all four skills, with French native and near-native trainers and conversation practice from week one.
French A1 coaching at EEC is ₹7,500 — the same flat fee for all our language and test prep courses. This includes 1-year membership, all study materials (Édito A1 and EEC custom workbook), full-length DELF A1 mock tests, daily live classes (online or classroom), conversation practice with French-fluent trainers, and recorded class library. The DELF A1 exam fee at Alliance Française India is ₹11,210 (2026 national rate, French Embassy mandated, GST included) — paid separately to Alliance Française. Higher DELF/DALF levels: A2 ₹11,210 · B1/B2 ₹13,265 · C1/C2 ₹14,553.
DELF A1 and TCF are administered by Alliance Française centres in 14 Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, and Kolkata. DELF sessions are typically held every 2 to 3 months; TCF (used by Campus France) is on-demand. EEC helps you choose between DELF, TCF, and TEF, register online, and prepare for the specific exam format.
Yes. EEC runs daily live online French A1 classes via Zoom with French-fluent trainers. Online students get free book delivery anywhere in India, full mock DELF/TCF access, weekly one-on-one conversation practice, personalised pronunciation review, and recorded class library. Many of our online students from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore have cleared DELF A1 entirely online and gone on to higher levels for France study or Canada PR.
For English-taught programs at French universities, A1 is sufficient and often the minimum the embassy expects. For French-taught Bachelor or Master programs, you need B2 or C1. The Campus France interview itself can be conducted in English or French — but if you can introduce yourself, explain your motivation, and answer basic questions in French (which A1 covers), interviewers respond very positively. EEC trains you in Campus France interview-specific French.
Yes. After your DELF or TCF score, EEC provides free France study abroad counselling (Campus France registration, SOP, university shortlisting, visa) and Canada PR or Quebec PNP counselling (Express Entry profile, CRS optimisation, French points calculation). Our specialists know exactly how A1, A2, B1, B2 scores translate to admissions and immigration outcomes.
