Senior Admissions Manager, EEC — EU Region & MBBS
Prexa Vyas is a Senior Admissions Manager at EEC, leading the European admissions and MBBS-abroad desk and serving as the canonical visa & study-abroad point-of-contact for the organisation (+91 93759 74748). In her senior-manager capacity she signs off applications across 18 EU destinations — Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Iceland, Greece, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, and Cyprus — plus four MBBS routes (Romania, Germany, Caribbean, Italy). Her workflow covers Schengen D-visa documentation, EU long-term residence-permit transitions, NMC-listed MBBS pre-screening, English-medium-programme shortlisting at TU Delft, KTH, Bocconi, KU Leuven, and University of Helsinki, and Erasmus Mundus scholarship navigation. Prexa partners closely with CA Madhav Gupta on multi-jurisdiction proof-of-funds reviews and with Kedar Bhatt on Germany-MBBS appellate cases.

The Netherlands is Europe's third-largest destination for Indian master's students in 2026 with over 2,100 English-taught programmes, 13 universities in the global top 200 (TU Delft, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Erasmus Rotterdam, Wageningen), tuition €8,000–€20,000 per year for non-EU students, and a 1-year orientation year (zoekjaar) post-study work permit. Schengen membership opens 27 EU countries, 95% of Dutch people speak fluent English, and the skilled-migrant pipeline from study to Kennismigrant employment makes the Netherlands a strong UK / Canada alternative.
Why Study in Netherlands 2026
Five reasons drive Indian students to the Netherlands. First, programmes: 2,100+ English-taught options at master's level, including engineering at TU Delft, business at Erasmus Rotterdam (MiM top 5), life sciences at Wageningen (world #1 in agriculture), and law at Leiden. Second, employability: the Highly Skilled Migrant route lets graduates convert to a 5-year work permit with a reduced IND-graduate salary threshold of €2,989/month (2026). Third, cost: tuition is lower than UK / USA and matches Australia. Fourth, language: zero Dutch needed for admission or daily life. Fifth, mobility: Schengen access and direct flights from Mumbai / Delhi to Amsterdam Schiphol in 8 hours.
Research University (WO) vs Applied Sciences (HBO)

WO research universities focus on academic research — bachelor 3 years, master 1–2 years, PhD funded with salary. Best for research and PhD pathways. Examples: TU Delft, University of Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Erasmus Rotterdam, Wageningen. HBO universities of applied sciences focus on practical careers — bachelor 4 years with mandatory internships. Best for direct industry employment. Examples: HAN, Saxion, Fontys, Hanze, Rotterdam UAS. WO graduates earn higher starting salaries; HBO graduates are job-ready faster.
Eligibility and English Tests
For bachelor: 12th-grade certificate (CBSE / ICSE / state board) with 70%+, IELTS 6.0–6.5. For master: 3 or 4-year bachelor with 60%+ or CGPA 6.5/10, IELTS 6.0–6.5 (top WO universities ask 6.5 with no band below 6.0), GMAT 645+ for business schools, GRE 315+ for engineering. PhD: master's + research proposal + supervisor approval. Most universities accept IELTS, TOEFL iBT 80+, Cambridge English Advanced or PTE Academic 58+.

MVV Student Visa Process

Your Dutch university is your MVV (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf) visa sponsor. After admission and tuition payment, the university submits your case to the IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service). Processing takes 4–8 weeks. You collect the MVV sticker at the Netherlands embassy in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru or Chennai, then complete biometrics and pick up your VVR (Verblijfsvergunning Regulier) residence permit within 14 days of arrival in the Netherlands.
1-Year Orientation Year (Zoekjaar)

The Zoekjaar Orientation Year is a 1-year residence permit for non-EU graduates of recognised Dutch institutions (bachelor, master, doctoral or post-doc) to search for skilled employment in the Netherlands. The permit fee is €254 (IND 2026), runs 12 months and cannot be extended. During this year you have full work rights with no salary threshold and unrestricted hours. Once you find a job that meets the Highly Skilled Migrant salary threshold (IND 2026: €4,171/month gross under-30, €5,688/month 28+, reduced €2,989/month for IND-recognised graduates within 3 years), you convert to a Kennismigrant residence permit leading to permanent residency in five years.
