After graduation, you get a 12-Month Orientation Year to find a job or start a business. Full-time work allowed. Rules differ by region (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels). Apply before your student visa expires.

Non-EU students may work up to 20 hours/week during term time. There is a 650-hour annual package (since 1 Jan 2025) that lets you pay only reduced social contributions (2.71%) — beyond 650 hours, you can still work but at standard tax rates. Belgium has 3 regions with slightly different rules. Federal minimum wage (RMMMG, age 18+, effective 1 April 2026): €2,189.81/month (cnt-nar.be).
