EEC is an official LanguageCert Registration Centre (Centre No. 9603), licensed to register candidates for LanguageCert Academic, General, International ESOL and Test of English (LTE) — and we register you for the sitting your route requires, since UK SELT and Australian DHA applications must be taken at an approved test venue rather than at home.
Everything you need to know about LanguageCert for Australian visa
LanguageCert is an English language test accepted by both Australian DHA and UK Home Office for visa and immigration applications. It tests your Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing skills. You can take it at a test center or online. Results come in 3-5 working days. It's accepted for UK student visa, work visa, spouse visa, and settlement applications.
Yes! LanguageCert Academic is accepted by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (since Aug 2025) for all visa subclasses. It is also approved by UK Home Office as a SELT provider. The others accepted by both countries include IELTS and PTE.
Academic SELT tests all 4 skills (L/R/W/S) at B1-C2 levels for UK student visa. General SELT also tests all 4 skills at A2-C1 levels for UK work visa. International ESOL SELT tests only Speaking & Listening at A1-B1 levels for UK spouse visa, settlement (ILR), and citizenship.
In India LanguageCert charges one fixed rate — ₹16,430 — across Academic SELT (4 skills), General SELT (4 skills) and Speaking & Listening only (2 skills); outside India the fee is $165. The Take2 retake option costs extra but gives you a free retake if you fail.
For Australian immigration, results are valid for 3 years (exception: 12 months for Subclass 485). For UK visa applications, results are valid for 2 years.
Results are delivered in 3-5 working days. For online exams, you may see preliminary results within 15 minutes. Official results are sent via email and uploaded to your LanguageCert account. You get a URN (Unique Reference Number) for your UK visa application.
Take2 is exam insurance. Pay a small extra fee when booking, and if you fail, you get a FREE retake. You must purchase Take2 up to 15 minutes before your exam starts. If you fail, you receive a voucher to retake within 6 months (International ESOL) or 14 days (SELT).
For UK visa applications, you must take the SELT version at an approved test center - online home testing is NOT accepted for UKVI. For Australian visa applications, you MUST take the LanguageCert Academic test at an approved Test Centre — online/at-home testing is NOT accepted by the Australian DHA. However, for university admission only (non-visa purposes), some universities accept the online proctored version.
LanguageCert has a 4.4 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot based on 2,349+ reviews. Students praise the professional staff, efficient service, easy booking process, quick results, and fair evaluation.
Approximate equivalence: B1 (Achiever) = IELTS 4.0-5.0. B2 (Communicator) = IELTS 5.5-6.5. C1 (Expert) = IELTS 7.0-8.0. C2 (Mastery) = IELTS 8.5-9.0. Both are accepted for Australian and UK visas.
