What is the dMAT exam?+
The dMAT (Digital Master Assessment Test) is a computer-based aptitude test by g.a.s.t., the German body behind TestDaF and TestAS. It is evaluated centrally at the TestDaF Institute in Bochum and is becoming part of the APS India verification process for selected Master's applicants to Germany. Your dMAT result is reflected on your APS certificate.
Who has to take the dMAT?+
Indian students applying to German Master's programmes for Summer Semester 2027 or later, if their bachelor's degree falls in Engineering, Commerce / Accounting / Finance / Economics, or Business / Management. Applicants who completed APS registration or shipped complete APS documents before 29 June 2026, already hold an APS certificate, or come through official exchange and double-degree programmes are exempt.
What is the dMAT exam pattern?+
Two parts of 90 minutes each with a 30-minute break, all in English. The Core Module has three subtests: Figure Sequences (20 tasks, 25 minutes), Mathematical Equations (20 systems, 25 minutes) and Latin Squares (16 tasks, 20 minutes). The Subject Module presents a typical problem from your field group followed by single-choice questions. No notes or rough paper are allowed anywhere in the exam.
What is the dMAT exam fee?+
The official test fee is EUR 150 (roughly ₹15,000), paid online during registration on the g.a.s.t. portal. This is separate from coaching fees.
When is the first dMAT test date?+
The first test day is 26 September 2026. Registration runs from 29 June 2026 to 15 September 2026, and results are available from 12 October 2026.
Where can I take the dMAT in India?+
Ten authorized centres were announced for the first cycle: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kolkata, Mananthavady, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune. The final centre list appears during registration. The test cannot be taken from home.
What does EEC dMAT coaching cost?+
The two-month intensive course is ₹15,000 after a 50% launch discount on the listed fee of ₹30,000. If you want more practice after your two months, you can extend at ₹5,000 per month.
What are the dMAT class timings at EEC?+
One hour of live teaching daily, 12 to 1 pm IST, on Zoom. You can join from any city in India. The batch covers the full maths and aptitude-reasoning syllabus mapped to the official g.a.s.t. task types.
Do GRE or GMAT scores exempt me from the dMAT?+
No. APS India has not announced any GRE or GMAT substitution. The only published exemptions relate to APS applications completed before 29 June 2026, existing APS certificates, and official exchange or partnership programmes.
Is there negative marking in the dMAT?+
The official preparatory materials tell candidates to guess rather than leave an answer blank, which is the strongest signal that skipping never helps. EEC trains you on elimination and educated guessing as part of exam strategy.
What is included in EEC's dMAT coaching course?+
Two months of live online coaching: one hour daily, Monday to Saturday, 12 to 1 pm IST, taught live by experienced faculty. The course covers the full g.a.s.t. core module — figure sequences, mathematical equations and Latin squares — plus subject-module strategy, exam-day timing, doubt solving and Germany admissions guidance. Access to the dMAT practice software is included for the full two months: 15 full-length mock tests, 29 topic-wise tests and a bank of over 1,600 practice questions, with unlimited retakes.
How long is the dMAT course and how many classes do I get?+
Two months of daily live classes, Monday to Saturday, one hour each. Your practice-software access runs for the same 60 days, so you can drill between classes for the whole course.
How many dMAT mock tests and practice questions do I get?+
47 tests in total: 15 full-length dMAT mock tests (60 questions across three sections in 75 minutes, matching the real exam), 29 topic-wise mock tests (20 questions each, 15 to 25 minutes) and 3 free demo tests. Behind them sits a bank of over 1,600 practice questions across Figure Sequence, Latin Square and Logical Calculations, each graded easy, medium and hard. You can retake every test as many times as you like during your two months of access.
Can I try the dMAT practice software before paying?+
Yes. Three demo tests are free — one for each core topic, 20 questions in 20 minutes each — so you can see the real computer-based format, the on-screen keyboard and the scoring dashboard before you buy anything.
Are the dMAT classes live or recorded?+
Live. Every session is taught in real time by an EEC faculty member on Zoom, so you can ask questions during class rather than watch a recording. Classes run daily, Monday to Saturday, 12 to 1 pm IST.
Can I start immediately after paying?+
Yes. Your dMAT practice-software access is activated the moment your payment completes — your login details arrive by email straight after checkout, so you can begin practising the same day. You join the live batch from the next scheduled class.
Do I get the dMAT practice software with the coaching course?+
Yes — practice-software access is part of the ₹15,000 coaching course for the full two months, at no extra cost. It gives you 15 full-length mock tests and 29 topic-wise tests on the real computer-based format, with an on-screen keyboard, instant scoring, a performance dashboard and progress tracking. The software can also be bought on its own if you only want to practise.
What happens when my two months of access end?+
You can extend for ₹5,000 per month for as long as you need. This is worth planning if your test date is further out — registration for the first cycle runs to 15 September 2026 and the exam is on 26 September 2026.
Can I join the dMAT coaching from outside Gujarat?+
Yes. The dMAT batch is online-only and runs on Zoom, so students join from any city in India. EEC has 26 branches across 12 Gujarat cities, but you do not need to be near one to take this course.
Do I need to know German for the dMAT or for this course?+
No. The dMAT is written entirely in English, and EEC's coaching is taught in English. German language certification is a separate requirement for some German universities and visa routes — our Germany counsellors can advise on that alongside your dMAT preparation.
