For the September intake (the larger of the two), start your application 8 to 12 months before — ideally by January or February of the same year for the autumn start. Top universities like Trinity College Dublin and UCD have rolling admissions but courses fill quickly, especially competitive Masters like Data Science and Business Analytics. For the January or February intake, apply by August or September of the prior year. EEC builds you a personalised timeline that includes IELTS, application, visa, and accommodation deadlines.
Core documents include: academic transcripts from class 10, 12, and Bachelors with consolidated marksheet, English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or PTE 63 typical for Masters), Statement of Purpose (SOP) of 800 to 1,000 words, two academic LORs, updated CV, passport copy, and work experience certificates if applicable. Some programs ask for a portfolio (Design, Architecture), GMAT or GRE (some MBA), or research proposal (PhD). EEC reviews and polishes every document before submission.
For undergraduate (Bachelors) applications, use the CAO (Central Applications Office) for Irish universities except for a few private colleges. The CAO deadline is typically February 1 for the September intake. For postgraduate (Masters, PhD), apply directly to each university through its own admissions portal — there is no central system. EEC manages your CAO application and direct postgraduate applications side-by-side so you do not miss any deadline.
Most undergraduate programs accept IELTS 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5. Most postgraduate programs require IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0. Top universities (Trinity, UCD) and competitive programs (Medicine, Law, Business Analytics) may ask for 7.0 overall with 6.5 in each band. PTE Academic and Duolingo are also accepted by most Irish universities — check program-specific requirements. EEC offers IELTS, PTE, and Duolingo coaching at ₹7,500.
Very important — especially for postgraduate applications. Irish universities use SOPs to assess fit, motivation, and ability to handle academic rigour. A strong SOP explains why this specific program at this specific university, what you bring (academics, projects, work experience), and your post-graduation career goals (showing intent to use the qualification meaningfully). EEC SOP experts have helped students secure admits at Trinity, UCD, UCC, and Galway — we draft, review, and polish your SOP through 3 to 5 iterations.
