The online version of the test is not accepted

The Department of Home Affairs does not accept English tests delivered entirely online, and names LANGUAGECERT Academic Online among those it will not accept — alongside IELTS Online, CELPIP Online, OET@Home and the TOEFL iBT Home Edition. Book the Test Centre option. We teach you online; you sit the exam in person.

Competent English is four different numbers

LANGUAGECERT Academic has been accepted by the Department of Home Affairs since 7 August 2025, for every visa type needing English evidence. For competent English you need 57 in listening, 60 in reading, 64 in writing and 70 in speaking. Most pages online will tell you it is a flat 64 in every skill. It is not, and speaking is the highest bar — pick your city below for the full table across all five English levels.

Pick your city

Each page shows the class time in that city's own timezone — including whether the state changes its clocks — the test centres listed nearby, and the price in AUD.
