Your class time in Tauranga

10:30 PM - 11:30 PM

for most of the year, and 11:30 PM - 12:30 AM during daylight saving

That is the 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM batch in India, running Mon-Sat, 1 hour a day.

Be honest with yourself about this hour before you enrol — it is a late class, six days a week. Ask us about alternatives.

LanguageCert is not accepted for New Zealand residence or work visas

Immigration New Zealand does not list LanguageCert among the tests it accepts, for either skilled residence or the Accredited Employer Work Visa. Those lists cover IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, B2 First and OET for health roles. If your goal is New Zealand residence or a work visa, one of those is the test you need — not this one.

What New Zealand does recognise LanguageCert for is enrolling as an international student. NZQA lists it for admission at every programme level, which makes it a legitimate choice if you are applying to an NZ university, polytechnic or private training establishment.

How that compares locally

Test-preparation courses in New Zealand typically run NZ$300–NZ$650. At roughly NZ$185 for 26 hours of live teaching, this is cheaper because it is taught from India at Indian salaries — not because it is shorter or automated. Separately, the LanguageCert exam fee is paid to LanguageCert: they list it at ₹16,430 in India, with results in 5 working days.

What score gets you into a New Zealand programme

From NZQA's table of internationally recognised English proficiency outcomes — the table your provider in Tauranga has to apply when they enrol you. Treat it as a floor rather than a promise: where a specific programme asks for more, the higher requirement wins.

NZQA also requires the test to be sat at an approved test centre, with all scores on a single Test Report — International ESOL is the one exception, where written and spoken results may arrive separately. Read the NZQA table. Checked 2026-08-08.

If you need a visa, here is what to take instead

LanguageCert will not get you a New Zealand residence or work visa. These are the tests Immigration New Zealand does accept, with the score each one needs. We coach IELTS and PTE Academic too, so if this is your goal, start there instead of here.

Accredited Employer Work Visa
IELTS 4.0, TOEFL iBT 31, PTE Academic 29, or B2 First 142

LanguageCert in Tauranga — questions we actually get

No. Immigration New Zealand does not list LanguageCert among the tests it accepts, for skilled residence visas or for the Accredited Employer Work Visa. Those lists cover IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, B2 First, OET (health roles). If your goal is New Zealand residence or a work visa, you need one of those tests instead — we would rather tell you that now than sell you the wrong course.

Getting into an New Zealand education provider. NZQA recognises LANGUAGECERT Academic and International ESOL for admitting international students, at every programme level from certificates through to doctorates. If you are applying to a university, polytechnic or private training establishment in Tauranga or anywhere else in New Zealand, it is a legitimate and often cheaper option.

For a bachelor's degree (NZQF level 6 / 7), NZQA sets LANGUAGECERT Academic at 65 overall with no skill below 60. For postgraduate study (Level 8 – 10), it is 70 overall with no skill below 65. Those are floors, not guarantees: where a specific programme asks for more, the higher requirement applies, so always check with the provider.

No. NZQA requires the test to be taken at a LanguageCert-approved test centre, with all scores from a single Test Report — International ESOL is the one exception, where the written and spoken results may arrive as two statements. An at-home sitting will not be accepted for admission.

It depends entirely on your goal. If you only need to be admitted to a course, either works and LanguageCert is usually cheaper with faster results. If you will also need a residence or work visa — now or later — take IELTS or PTE Academic, because Immigration New Zealand accepts those and does not accept LanguageCert. Many students in that position take the visa-eligible test once rather than paying for two.

Classes run Mon-Sat for 1 hour a day. The batch we recommend for Tauranga starts at 10:30 PM - 11:30 PM for most of the year and 11:30 PM - 12:30 AM during daylight saving local time (NZST / NZDT), which is 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in India where the teacher is. Be honest with yourself about that hour before you enrol — it is a late class, six days a week. Talk to a counsellor about alternatives if it will not work for you.

26 hours of live teaching in total — 26 sessions of 1 hour, running Mon-Sat across about 4 weeks. You also get 10 full mock tests and 30 days of access to the material.

₹9,990, which is roughly NZ$185 at current rates (1 NZD = ₹54 (as of 2026-10-07, European Central Bank (via Frankfurter.dev))). You are charged in Indian rupees; the NZD figure is a conversion for comparison only, and your bank's rate on the day will differ slightly. That is for the coaching — the LanguageCert exam fee is separate and is paid to LanguageCert.

Not one listed in LanguageCert's official directory as of 2026-08-08. The nearest listed centres are in Auckland, so plan for travel on test day. New centres do open, so check the official directory before you book — and note that our coaching is fully online, so where you live only affects the exam itself, not the classes.

No. EEC teaches from India — our 26 branches are all in Gujarat — and these classes are delivered live over Zoom to students anywhere. What you get is an Indian teacher, an Indian price and a class timed for NZST / NZDT. Everything to do with the exam itself happens at a LanguageCert-approved test centre near you.
