Step-by-Step Registration Process
Step 1:Visit ets.org/toefl and click "Register/Find Test Centers & Dates." Step 2: Create an ETS account (name must match your passport EXACTLY). Step 3: Search for available test dates and centres in your city. Step 4: Select your preferred date and centre (or choose Home Edition). Step 5: Nominate up to 4 universities for free score reports. Step 6: Pay ₹18,000 via credit/debit card or PayPal. Step 7: Receive confirmation email with test details and ID requirements.
ID Requirement: You must bring your valid passport on test day. No other ID is accepted for Indian test-takers. The name on your ETS account must match your passport exactly — including middle name. Available Test Dates 2026
TOEFL iBT is offered approximately 60+ times per year in India, typically on Saturdays and Sundays. Major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad have the most frequent test dates — often 4-6 dates per month. Smaller cities may have 1-2 dates per month. The Home Edition offers even more flexibility — available almost every day.
Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy
Rescheduling: You can reschedule for ₹4,520 if done at least 4 days before the test date. Cancellation: If you cancel at least 4 days before the test, you receive a 50% refund of the registration fee (~₹9,000). Cancellations made less than 4 days before the test receive no refund.

Score Reports & Sending Scores
TOEFL results are available within 72 hours of taking the test. You can view scores online in your ETS account. During the 2-year transition period, your score report shows both the new 1-6 band score and a comparable 0-120 score. You receive 4 free score reports to send to universities; additional reports cost ₹1,477 each.
